Hi, I'm David from the UK. I grew up in the Brethren in the county Devon which had one of the highest concentrations of Brethren assemblies in the UK. I've been associated with various Brethren churches most of my life, the church I attend at the moment has Brethren roots, but would probably be disowned by a lot of Brethren.

I guess I have a sort of love/hate relationship with the Brethren, who have played a major role in who I am today.

Love the open Breaking of Bread/Communion
Love their commitment to scripture (though not always the way they understand it).
Love the genuine Christian fellowship found in many of their churches.
Hate the divisiveness some of their churches.
Hate the sense of superiority and spiritual pride often found.
Hate the fact that many of them still live in the 1950s and never sing anything less than 100 years old.

These are just a few things that immediately come to mind, I'm sure there are more. I'm interested in all things Brethren, especially their history.
