prophecy

1 Corinthians 14:25 tells us that prophecy can so demonstrate the power of God that the one who receives it “…will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, ‘God is really among you!’” The faith-building power that prophecy can have is quite amazing.

Hi Keith,
I like it no initial criticism but an honest desire to verify testimonies. As it should be I tend to be the same.

The Bishop:
With regards to the Anglican Bishop his name was not given in John Arnott's talk but I suspect it was the bishop who was also involve previously with John Wimber and the Vineyard movement. His name was David Pytches I remember he was a bishop of a Latin America country and returned to UK. You get some info on him from Wikipedia etc. I will try to get more information from Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship to confirm if its the right bishop.

The Doctor:
Type in a search for:- Dr Grant Mullen and Kathy Mullen – Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship and stuff will come up. With regard to Dr. Grant I personally herd him give his testimony of the circumstances that took him to the Toronto Church.

Rolland and Heidi Baker:
Directors of ‘Iris Ministries Maputo, Mozambique. Roland is a third generation missionary his grandfather wrote the book ‘Visions Beyond the Veil’. They were previously missionaries in China, Hong Kong and Indonesia. According to their short biographies in the book suggested previously they had then planted out from their Bible training centre over 400 churches in Mozambique in five years by the year 2000 (date of publication). My report of thousands by now, I cannot verify or remember from where I heard the report. With regards to Heidi’s recovery on her first trip to Toronto I personally herd her give this testimony at Toronto.
Type in a search for - ‘Iris Ministries Maputo, Mozambique – and lots will come up.
I have not had chance to view any of these sites myself today – and have not previously considered doing so having met these people previously and been convinced of their truthfulness. Perhaps I am mistaken in attributing your enquiry to uncertainty of them.
Must rush – our meeting hear is about to start – and I hear them already singing of ‘the wonder of the cross’.
Thanks for the enquiry

I have selected a section from one of the Bakers news letter I have been reading for you to get a sample of their work.

The Spreading Kingdom - By Rolland and Heidi Baker December 2009

American Thanksgiving in the bush, 2009
Unexpectedly tonight we are moved deeply by our thanksgiving dinner. Heidi and I are invited to the pastor's hut to eat. There is nothing in the hut but a plain table, little wooden chairs, a local rope bed and a few changes of clothes hanging on a clothesline. We learn that our hosts have done the most special thing they could for us. Once a year they eat chicken, and tonight they have killed their one scrawny little chicken for their guests of honor. We each get a tiny piece or two, and the chicken sauce is delicious, which we enjoy by dipping cakes of ground corn meal
in it. We feel soaked in the rich love of God as we partake of the very best this pastor and his family have to offer. Finally we take our leave, and with great thanksgiving we go to our tents and fall asleep for the night. All is quiet, and Jesus is with us.
We wake up early, wet with perspiration as the rising sun heats our tents. After coffee and bread, and lots of fellowship, we gather with the villagers to dedicate the new children's house. We have been instituting a system of church-based orphan care in as many villages as possible, asking each pastor to take care of a dozen full orphans. We gather in the house to pray with our orphans, who are not orphans any more, but fully adopted into the family of God and by the Body of Christ in the village. The pastor, his wife and his new children under their care are beaming. We are putting together a child sponsorship program that we pray will support these children and thousands more like them all over Mozambique.

Deliverance in the bush
The rain is loud, and the people in the back standing in the mud can hardly hear our simple sound system. What can the Holy Spirit do here? Plenty! Right now He is cleansing the entire assembly of demonic oppression. Tears are running down faces and bodies are shaking. Hands are lifted high. A huge outcry is rising up to heaven. I have just asked how many are being harassed and afflicted by demons, and nearly everyone stood up. Mozambique is riddled with witchcraft and demonic power, and so many churchgoers are syncretistic, going to witch doctors as well as God to try to meet their desperate needs. Every chance we get in our Bible schools and churches we urge the people to make a clean and total break from powers of darkness. So now I have asked the people to confess anything and everything that is still wrong in their hearts so that they can be cleansed and protected from evil forces. Suddenly the Holy Spirit came in force, and I can't preach over the sound of repentant voices loudly crying for mercy and help. I and our pastors lay hands on as many as we can reach. We rebuke all evil power. Finally a mood of great peace and relief settles on everyone, and we move gently into the rest of our service.

I know that issues of deliverance are often unfamiliar to Brethren and rejected by some so included this section. However recently on a web search of Brethren sites (I searched for it now but cannot find it again)I found an account from Brethren in India where they just had to get involved in such as the demons manifested. Unfortunately these Brethren followed very unscriptural practice by seemingly getting into prolonged conversation with the demons. Demons may attempt to do this to delay or put you off their expulsion. We do not see this in scripture at times Jesus told them to 'be quiet and come out!' and that was it over. Conversations with demons can be dangerous and lead those involved to become intrigued by them, besides demons are all liars like their father satan. I am not intending to be critical of these brethren as I believe they indicated that this was their first experience of such Phenomena. Besides they were eventually successful in casting the demons out. But its a subject that requires Biblical research and study and I think Brethren need to take it seriously. But this post started in reference to prophecy - its my contention that the 'Gifts of the Spirit' are intended as our tool kit' prophecy may well come into operation in deliverance sometimes the Lord reveals the means by which demons have gainned a foothold in someones life through prophecy and this aids their expulsion. speaking from experience a good Biblical knowledge of deliverance is invaluable while evangelising amongst communities of those who actively practice witchcraft. Here in Barbados witchcraft goes under the local name of 'Obea' by the way it works its far from just superstition!

Hi Keith,

Yes I tracked him down I did have the right Bishop unless there have been more of them roaring over in Canada. To my mind I think we could do with a few more of them roaring for truth, love and righteousness in that communion in the UK. I think our ‘Lion of Judah’ is doing so. Of course we know the devil is only LIKE a roaring lion - not the real thing – just a fake cardboard cut out version compared with our captain of the Lords host.

Do a search by typing - David Pytches UK Anglican Bishop roars like a lion

Lots of sites come up – just glanced at a few all so far are extremely critical – I saw the Bishop once at a John Wimber Conference. He seemed sane to me – but then I guess my own judgement is probably on the downward trend in the estimation of many on this site. However no offence taken after all its all in the family and Father will sort it all out at least on the last day if not sooner.

I suggest you view - Prophetic TV Interview with Rplland Baker (move past the glity USA TV adds and listen to the interview on U Tube)
